The agency serves Wilkinsburg and the surrounding towns and municipalities and operates both a bricks and mortar pantry at 702-704 Wood Street and a mobile pantry at several hour stops per week in several urban neighborhoods in and around Wilkinsburg. The truck is a 25-foot step van outfitted with shelves and refrigeration and freezer equipment.
Assistant Mobile Pantry Coordinator #2
The Assistant Mobile Pantry Coordinators work with a small team of staff and volunteers to stock and maintain the warehouse and the truck.

- Participate in mobile distributions of food and paper products to neighbors
- Organize all onsite and warehouse safety, security and activity procedures
- Monitor and/or perform all cleaning and safety activities to maintain compliance with County Health Department regulations.
- Loading and unloading truck
- Monitor warehouse equipment (refrigeration and freezer units)
- Maintain vehicle, per instructions of Mobile Pantry Coordinator or Pantry Driver.
- Clean vehicle
- Monitor fluid levels and other regular maintenance.
- Maintain vehicle inspections
Qualifications
- Demonstrated track record of working with staff and volunteers
- Ability and willingness to follow directions
- A personal safe driving record; experience in driving a large vehicle is preferred but not required. Regular driver’s license is required.
- Some experience using a pallet jack would be useful
- Good communication skills, especially in verbal communications.
- Willingness to ask for help
At present this position is ¾ time but should expand to full time by the end of the calendar year. This position will require evening work, but rarely early morning work. Pay is every two weeks, via direct deposit to account.

Assistant Pantry Coordinator
Assistant Pantry Coordinator will work closely with the Pantry Coordinator.
- Year-round management of a store front and mobile food pantry that serve 500+ families a month, including food sourcing, including fresh, frozen, and commercially canned products.
- Training and supervision of staff and volunteers, including scheduling, clearances, training, and evaluation.
- Use of tracking systems specific to food banks and pantries
Basic Requirements:
- Welcoming demeanor and a willingness to work with a range of neighbors from many different backgrounds
- A general understanding and familiarity with computers, knowledge of Google Docs and email systems
- Organized and detailed oriented
- Clean Driver’s license
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30-50 pounds
- Pass state and child abuse clearances
Advanced Requirements:
- Retail experience, familiar with merchandising and display
- Some familiarity with Spanish language is a plus
- Ability to express complex ideas clearly, in writing and speaking
- Serv-Safe certifications
